Hello everybody!
Today I'll talk about a
topic that really excites me. Music and particularly my favorite music. The
truth I hear a lot of music , in fact is my favorite time passes because it
relaxes me and takes me to meet a new world in my head.
I couldn´t define a particular kind of style as I listen
to music of all kinds, and I recognize myself as a person who knows too many
songs . Really are many ! My knowledge in music is because very little my dad
always has gotten used to it. In fact we love to sing together.
When I was a little girl I like Classical Music and Latin Rock. Years later I started listening Teen Pop (RBD), that my smother was
disappointed lot. Finally, and even today I hear music of all kinds, Cumbia, Electronic Music, Rock, Reggaeton, Pop, Romantic and all that is me crossing
the front. Only I don´t like Metal.
Although I like different kinds of
music, my favorite is Latin Rock. I love it! Latin Rock is a term to describe a
music subgenre consisting in melting traditional sounds and elements of Latin
American and Caribbean folk with Rock Music.
Latin Rock (term not yet created) was
born in the United States at late 1950s. In 1958 and adaptation of a Mexican
folk song called “La bamba” by the chicano rock artist Ritchie Valens. That same
year, instrumental rock band The Champs released "Tequila", that
incorporates clear Latin sounds.
I also have a favorite singer, Francisca Valenzuela. She born March
17, 1987 in San Francisco, California. Is an American-born Chilean singer, poet,
and multi-instrumentalist. In San Francisco, California, she resided until the
age of 12, before moving to Santiago, Chile. She gained to popularity in Chile
and Latin America, following the release of her debut album, Muérdete La Lengua
in June 2007. Her second album, Buen Soldado followed in March 2011.
I love Francisca because she is a beautiful, smart, autentic and talented woman, and because she loves music and she does it.
My favorite band is Calle 13, a Puerto Rican band
formed by René Pérez Joglar, who calls himself Residente (lead singer,
songwriter), Eduardo José Cabra Martínez, who calls himself Visitante
(multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, beat producer) and their half-sister Ileana
Cabra Joglar aka PG-13 or recently ILE (backing vocals).
The band is
characterized by mixing different rhythms like rap, rock, ska, merengue, bossa
nova, cumbia, electronic music, among others, and is also known for its
satirical lyrics, as well as a social commentary on issues of Latin American
culture and politics and world news.
